Ten Hag confirms McTominay will be retained

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed he wants to keep hardworking midfielder Scott McTominay amid interest from a number of clubs.

    The Scotland midfielder impressed last season, scoring 10 goals in 43 games in all competitions for the club, and was one of the standout performers amid disappointing Premier League results.

    However, the 27-year-old has been heavily link with a move away from Old Trafford, Promotion ufabet with West Ham reportedly making an offer in January, which the Red Devils rejected.

    Ten Hag has recently confirmed that he wants to keep McTominay, saying: “We have very good players, so other clubs will always show interest.”

    “When you score 10 goals in a season and do very well for Scotland, there is interest, but we want to keep him because he is a very important player for us.”

    “With what he can contribute as we saw last season when we were fully prepare, he can play in a higher position and he is a very interesting player for our team.”

Ten Hag has already bolstered his squad this summer with the additions of 18-year-old French defender Leny Yoro and Dutch international striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

Yoro enjoyed his first outing in a red shirt when he played the first half of Saturday’s friendly against Rangers in Edinburgh, with goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill securing a 2-0 victory for an experimental United side which also featured Jadon Sancho for the first time since his fallout with Ten Hag last term.
