Mohamed Salah sets incredible Premier League record during Liverpool vs West Ham

Salah has plenty of time to surge a long way past that previous record, with six games still to play after this weekend.
There is every chance that the 32-year-old could break the record for a Premier League season, even including the 42-game campaigns.
Andy Cole in 1993/94 and Alan Shearer in 1994/95 both reache 47 goal involvements, but their tally could easily be shattere by the Reds legend.
Cole was with Newcastle United when he manage the record-setting season, with Shearer firing Blackburn to the title as he matche that total.
Salah also has the record for most assists in a Premier League season in his sights, with a very good chance of securing himself another slice of history.
Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne currently share that record with the Arsenal legend registering 20 assists in 2002/03 and the Manchester City icon managing the same in 2019/20.
With Salah up to 18 already, the forward is well place to get himself ahead of the Frenchman and the Belgian in the assists stakes.
While it is not out of his reach, scoring the most goals in a Premier League season seems far less likely as Salah has a lot of work to do to manage that this campaign.
Haaland has that record, having score 36 goals in 2022/23, so the Liverpool man would have to have an extremely strong end to the season to beat or match that.
